I do not really like dogs, however, this is not a problem, as I'm going to look at my dog with an idea of irrelevance i.e. ghost, puppet (mocking), specimen, dead.
There is a dog from the book 'Two Caravans' named 'dog' which has somewhat inspired me.
This will soon be appearing in a new collection at Bury Museum; a lovely little sketchbook /scrapbook from a woman named Dorothy, with drawings from different friends and visitors to her home (well, so it is thought).
I have currently been doing some volunteer work at Bury Art Gallery and Museum, where I have been working the museum archives and stores helping document objects and costume. Amongst the interesting things so far I particularly like some aprons that were donated to the Musuem in 1972 I Think.
I love the documentation and recording of objects (which is probably obvious from the nature of my previous work) so up to now, the volunteer work has been great, as its right up my street!
I have also been given a summer project before I start my course in september, so I am thinking of linking in all this experience and ideas to develop something very interesting...
