This was a fantastic exhibition (it even on a few years ago in manchester, that I went to see..) exploring textile art, 'innovative' and 'contemporary' from countries such as the UK, Finland and Japan.
I only just thought about this exhibition near the end of the last project, but no worries, I think it's definitely something I will be referring to in the future...and if not there are just lots of lovely artworks to view and admire.
A few of my favourites from the exhibition;
HELENA HIETANEN
ZANE BERZINA
MAXINE BRISTOW
I seem to have picked out the ones with a more sculptural/installation pieces...some cloth, some not. They are quite simple and quiet (even Helena's bright halogen lights).
There are a few other artists I really like from this; Agneta Hobin, Freddie Robbins and Shelly Goldsmith, they may be making an appearance on the blog too at a later date...They are all excellent!
